Comic Con - White Collar, Sons of Anarchy and More...

One of the highlights of the summer each year for geeks and fan boys the World over is Comic Con, which kicks off next week (22nd July) in San Diego for 4 days of nerdy goodness.

Over the years Comic Con has morphed from pure, unadulterated geekery into an event more encompassing of all aspects of popular culture. Comic Con usually has a veritable smorgasbord of newsworthy revelations about upcoming films, games and TV.

This year the USA network has a very strong presence at the convention in an effort to promote the hot line-up of shows in its summer schedule. It is the second year in a row that USA has had a presence at Comic Con and three of its top-rated, acclaimed shows will be out in full force with chaired panels fielding all manner of questions.

The one that interests me most obviously is the White Collar panel which will take place on day 1 of Comic Con (Thursday 22nd July) at 2.15pm (San Diego time).

White Collar is nearing the end of its first season here in the UK and season 2 premiered to favourable reviews last night in the US, the show features a great cast of actors who have come across in interviews as charming and witty as the characters they play on screen.

The panel will be chaired by the charismatic Willie Garson (who plays Mozzie on the show) and will feature cast and creators from the show.

The USA contingent at Comic Con also consists of Psych and Burn Notice, cable TV’s number one rated show.

Another panel at Comic Con worth getting excited about comes on the final day of the convention (Sunday 25th July) at 2.45pm when FX’s Sons of Anarchy rolls into San Diego.

Series creator Kurt Sutter and his wife the brilliant and Emmy-robbed Katey Sagal will be present along with Charlie Hunnam and Ron Perlman amongst others.

A show about an outlaw motorcycle club might not seem like your standard Comic Con fodder, so it just goes to show how diverse the Comic Con line-up has become over the years.

Season 3 of TV’s best show is just around the corner so Sutter and the gang will no doubt be revealing some of what we can expect when SAMCRO ride back on to our screens in the next couple of months.

You’ll be able to read about any Sons of Anarchy and White Collar news coming out of Comic Con here first…
